A Different Way to Think About Travel.
A Different Way to Think About Travel.
Why should you plan your travel the way you manage your wealth?
Thinking in years, not
single trips.
You will often hear me say that travel is the one thing you buy that makes you richer. After thirty years in this industry, I believe that more than ever.
But the travelers who get the most from the world are not the ones who take the most trips. They are the ones who think about travel the way a wise investor thinks about their financial portfolio: with intention, long-term vision, and a clear sense of what they are building.
A single trip, however wonderful, is a moment. A travel portfolio is a life.
Building a life well-traveled.
A travel portfolio is a thoughtful, multi-year plan that prioritizes and sequences the journeys you want to experience.
Just as you work with a wealth advisor to make thoughtful decisions about your financial portfolio over time, your travel portfolio deserves the same long-term perspective—understanding what matters most to you, which experiences belong now and which are worth planning in the years ahead.
From a single trip to a travel life.
When we first started working with Travel Concierge, we thought we were just planning a single trip. What we didn't realize is that we were building something much bigger.
Jeff asked us questions no one had ever asked before. Not just where we wanted to go this year, but why. What we wanted to feel. Where we were in our lives, and what we hoped travel would mean to our family over the next several years. That conversation changed everything.
We talked to Jeff about the multigenerational trip we'd wanted to take for years. It was one of those journeys that always felt too big, too complicated, and too far in the future to plan—it simply lived in our heads as a “someday” idea. We also shared some of the other experiences we'd talked about frequently—some might call it a bucket list: an expedition to Antarctica, an African safari, and a Christmas markets river cruise. Together, we began thinking about when each one made sense, what we wanted to prioritize, and how we could plan for them over time.
With Jeff’s help, we built our multi-year plan. Suddenly, our travel life had structure. It had intention. It had a calendar. We had our travel plans outlined for 2025 and beyond. And Jeff explained that, of course, lives and calendars change and that flexibility was built in.
We're no longer just planning trips. We're building a travel life, with real intention, real progression, and a genuine plan to finally take our family on the journeys we've talked about for a decade. And honestly, that's made all the difference.

The invitation.
Think about your travel life not as a series of trips to complete, but as a portfolio to build over time. Travel, approached with intention, is never just a trip. It is a chapter in a longer story, one that deepens with every journey and rewards those willing to think beyond the next departure date.
This is the art of a life well-traveled.
